Pitiful Posh wrong to axe Ferguson

The decision to part company with Ferguson is nothing short of a disgrace.[LNB]Widely regarded as one of the country's best young managers, Ferguson has guided Posh to two straight promotions.[LNB]The London Road club are clearly punching above their weight in the Championship and that is almost entirely down to Ferguson, who incidently has a win percentage of 50% from his three years at the helm.[LNB]Managers come and go in the modern game, but Ferguson surely deserved some loyalty after dragging the club from the bowels of the league ladder and into one division below the Premier League.[LNB]There is no doubting the club are struggling this time around after falling to the foot of the Championship after Saturday's defeat at table-topping Newcastle, but to be judged on 16 games this season is crazy.[LNB]Ferguson has had little money to spend this time around and with gates of around 8,000 it's an unenviable task of competing with the likes of Newcastle, who had over 40,000 watching them defeat Posh over the weekend.[LNB]Still Ferguson moulded a squad with a number of talented players including Aaron Mclean, Paul Coutts, George Boyd and Craig Makail-Smith and many pundits believed they would hold their own in the Championship this term.[LNB]However it has not quite worked out that way as Fergie Junior's men have struggled, but five of their 10 league defeats have been by the odd goal and Posh are not that far away from being able to comfortably compete in the second tier.[LNB]Ferguson without doubt has been harshly treated and deserved more time to turn things around, but Posh's loss will be somebody else's gain.[LNB][LNB]
