Tomlin makes welcome return

Lee Tomlin returns from suspension for Peterborough against Stevenage but Shaun Brisley is banned for Posh.

Tomlin has served a four-match ban for the red card he received during last month's league defeat at Colchester and the forward will probably go straight back into manager Darren Ferguson's starting line-up on Saturday. Brisley will miss out after he was sent off for two yellow card offences in the defeat at Walsall on Monday night.

Tommy Rowe is expected to come back into the reckoning while Nathaniel Knight-Percival is pushing hard for a return from injury.

Posh have slipped seven points behind second-placed Leyton Orient and are a further point adrift of Sky Bet League One leaders Wolves after three straight league losses.

Stevenage will check on captain Jon Ashton and goalkeeper Chris Day ahead of the trip.

Centre-half Ashton has missed Boro's last two matches after injuring his knee in training and Day had to go off at half-time against Rotherham last weekend with a back problem.

Utility-man Roarie Deacon will return to the squad after he missed the 3-0 defeat by the Millers through suspension.

Defenders Ben Chorley (calf) and David Gray (knee) are stepping up their recoveries but Saturday's match is likely to come too soon while forward Darius Charles (ankle) is still a few weeks away.
