Maddison worry for Posh

Marcus Maddison is an injury doubt for Peterborough as they prepare to host fellow play-off hopefuls Rochdale.

Maddison visibly struggled with a knee problem during the midweek defeat to Gillingham but Posh boss Darren Ferguson allowed the playmaker to complete the full 90 minutes.

Winger Jon Taylor is set to return to the squad following a three-month absence with knee trouble while goalkeeper Ben Alnwick will also come back into the reckoning after a month out with a thigh injury.

At his press conference on Thursday, Ferguson had yet to decide whether Alnwick would go straight back into the starting line-up or if he would stick with Rotherham loanee Scott Loach, who is set to return to his parent club after Saturday's game.

Rochdale boss Keith Hill could be tempted to hand Jack O'Connell his first start since returning to the club.

O'Connell completed a permanent move to Brentford from Blackburn last week and immediately returned on loan to Rochdale, for whom he stepped off the substitutes' bench in the midweek defeat at Walsall.

Hill has no new injury or suspension worries, but Rhys Bennett remains sidelined due to a knee injury and fellow midfielder Matty Lund (dislocated shoulder) is expected to be out for the rest of the season.

Midfielder Andy Cannon made his second league start of the season at Walsall and will be hoping to keep his place, as will recalled striker Calvin Andrew.
