Posh still without Wootton

Peterborough will be without Scott Wootton against promotion-chasing Leicester at London Road.

Wootton was a surprise omission from the team that drew 2-2 at home with Burnley last Saturday.

Posh boss Darren Ferguson revealed this week that the on-loan Manchester United defender had suffered a hamstring injury in training and was back receiving treatment at the Barclays Premier League leaders.

Wootton is expected to be out for around six weeks so Gaby Zakuani could continue in the side.

Ferguson has options as regards partners alongside Zakuani at the heart of the defence, with Nathaniel Knight-Percival, Shaun Brisley, Michael Bostwick and Craig Alcock all capable of playing in the centre.

Ferguson added that he is preparing for the game with George Boyd in his side. The long-serving midfielder, whose move to Nottingham Forest collapsed last week, could leave the club now the loan window is open again.

Leicester manager Nigel Pearson has received good news on the injury front.

Midfielder Matty James and defender Liam Moore have recovered from knocks while centre-backs Sean St. Ledger and Zak Whitbread have returned to full training after lengthy injury absences.

Republic of Ireland international St. Ledger has been out since suffering a hamstring strain in October, while Whitbread has missed the last seven games with a calf problem.

Pearson said: "They are all back in training, including St. Ledger and Whitbread, but that is not to say they will all be available for Saturday.

"I suppose a lot will depend on the outcome of the FA Cup replay we have next week as to how things develop fixture congestion-wise.

"But we have an important game against Peterborough first so we have to take one step at a time. We have a strong squad and we will need that in the months ahead."

Jeff Schlupp remains unavailable as the striker is still training with Manchester United.
