Posh duo set to return

Defenders Ben Nugent and Nathaniel Knight-Percival look likely to return to the Peterborough squad for the visit of Crewe.

Both players missed the defeat at Sheffield United on Tuesday night, Nugent with a hip problem and Knight-Percival with a facial injury following a bang to the head during the previous weekend's defeat at Crawley.

Posh boss Darren Ferguson has hinted he will use Britt Assombalonga more sparingly until the end of the season in an attempt to keep his leading scorer fresh for the play-offs, so the 24-goal striker may remain on the bench against the Alex.

Fellow striker Kyle Vassell remains on the sidelines with a broken toe.

Crewe are likely to have a long injury list again when they travel to London Road.

Midfield pair Bradden Inman (hip) and Anthony Grant (foot), who both started last weekend's game against Swindon, have missed training sessions this week and their respective problems will be assessed nearer kick-off.

Foot injuries have kept fellow midfielders George Evans and Abdul Osman sidelined, although the duo returned to training on Thursday. On-loan striker Uche Ikpeazu, whose time at Gresty Road has been hampered by ankle and dead leg problems, is now considered injury-free but must spend some time building his fitness up.

Goalkeeper Neil Etheridge (thigh) could return at the end of this month, although boss Steve Davis admits it is too early to say if Ryan Colclough (stomach) or Max Clayton (ankle) will return before the end of the season.
