Pearce pushing for Posh start

Darren Ferguson was furious with the slack defending which allowed Blackpool to record a 2-0 win at the weekend and on-loan Birmingham defender Pearce is in contention after coming on in the second half. Chris Whelpdale was introduced at half-time in place of Paul Coutts and could also start as Ferguson goes for the win at home to the Championship's bottom side. Utility man Charlie Lee remains sidelined with an ankle injury but Ferguson has no other problems as he looks for a second league win of the season. He said: "I have said all along our home form will be key this season and we really need to put points on the board before the international break next month. But we will have to eradicate the errors that were made on Saturday."
