Newell: Bennett is staying put
The 19-year-old has been tracked by newly-promoted Championship outfit Peterborough.
But Newell has reiterated his desire to hang on to the promising defender and told the Grimsby Telegraph: "There will be no-one else going out unless Ryan goes.
"I said before that no-one in their right mind sells a player in the close-season and it's certainly not my intention at the moment.
"The situation can be taken out of your hands if a club forces your hand, but I certainly wouldn't expect to be selling Ryan when we are not even playing football."
