New boys Posh head to Derby
Ferguson's men were runners-up to Leicester in League One last season and will face Nigel Clough's Derby on August 8 as the sons of two managerial greats go head to head.
Posh then have successive home fixtures against Sheffield Wednesday and West Brom.
The return against West Brom, who were relegated from the Premier League last season, will take place on Boxing Day.
Posh end their Championship campaign away to Plymouth on May 2.
