Miller welcomes Boyd to fold

Peterborough winger Boyd has been named by national team boss George Burley in the squad for Wednesday night's B international against Northern Ireland. The 23-year-old earned the call-up after the Scottish Football Association confirmed he was eligible for the clash at Broadwood through a Scottish grandparent. If all goes well, Boyd - who has already been linked with both Celtic and Rangers - could even be considered for the senior squad as they continue their quest to qualify for the World Cup. And Miller - a homegrown Scot - insists he has absolutely no problem with Burley exploring every possible method of strengthening the national team. "Every nation looks at every alternative," said the striker. "If the lad is going to come in and improve our squad, I'm sure every player in the team is going to welcome it. "I don't know much about him to be fair but he has had great Press and really good reports from his manager. "I'm sure he wouldn't be getting the call-up if he didn't deserve it." Miller added: "If he is saying he is more than happy to play for Scotland then, like any player who steps out onto that pitch, he is going to be giving his all for the country to get the right result. "He will be no different to anyone else."
