The 19-year-old defender skippered the Mariners to League Two safety this season and swept the board at the club's player of the year awards following an impressive campaign. His form has led to him catching the eye of a number of clubs, but Peterborough have been told that even a seven figure-fee will not prise him away from Blundell Park. "Grimsby have got an option on the boy and said 'thanks for the interest but we wouldn't sell him for £1million', Fry, Peterborough's director of football, told BBC Radio Humberside. "Ryan fits out bill as a young hungry talent. Grimsby feel the same and want to keep their best players." Fry also believes that Bennett may be in the middle of a tug-of-war between football agents, adding: "I've had three different agents talking about Ryan. I don't know who he's represented by or whether he's got one agent, or two, or three, or none."
