Johnson hails Posh stars

Peterborough boss Gary Johnson heaped praise on big-name players George Boyd and Aaron Mclean after they helped mastermind a 3-0 victory over Bristol Rovers. Johnson's men overran the Pirates with a second-half attacking onslaught launched by fans' favourite Boyd. He broke the deadlock in the 57th minute and Mclean struck at the second attempt with 17 minutes remaining before skipper Grant McCann tucked away a classy free-kick late on. Johnson said: "Myself, our director of football Barry Fry and the chairman Darragh MacAnthony fought very hard to keep George and Aaron at the club. "How do you replace players like that? The simple answer is you can't. I see how important it was to keep hold of them every day in training and every week in games and it was like Christmas coming early when we were able to keep hold of them. "It was also important to add to the honest, hard-working group of players here, and that's something we have done."
