Hyde: Posh 'want success yesterday'

Hyde skippered the club to promotion from League Two during the 2007/08 season to spark their rise up to the Championship under the management of Darren Ferguson.[LNB]And he admits he is not overly surprised by the developments this week which have seen Ferguson part company with the club.[LNB]"It's sad," Hyde said. "Darren's a good manager and got on with everyone.[LNB]"I'm not happy with the decision but, as I say, I'm not surprised.[LNB]"The people who run the club want success yesterday. I don't think the people at Peterborough would be happy with the way it's going at the moment.[LNB]"The club's expectations are too high. It's sad to see him leave but I'm not surprised. That's the way they are."[LNB]Ferguson's reign at London Road ended on Tuesday night in the wake of Posh's 3-1 defeat at Championship leaders Newcastle last time out, which left the side languishing bottom of the table and four points from safety.[LNB]Yet, despite their position, Hyde believes the outcome has been far too rash.[LNB]"You would have thought they would want consolidation this season," he added.[LNB]"They've had back-to-back promotions and you would have thought it would be good just to consolidate and stick with Darren.[LNB]"Even if they had got relegated you can be sure he would have got them promoted again. They jumped the gun but that's football for you."[LNB]Ferguson, 37, has been hailed as one of the best up-and-coming managers in the Football League and Peterborough even spurned advances from Reading for his services during the summer.[LNB]And Hyde, who is currently captain of League Two outfit Barnet, added: "He's a lovely young manager with good ideas. He used to join in with training and got on with the players.[LNB]"I had a really good relationship with him. Darren is a great manager and hopefully he'll be back in management soon."[LNB][LNB]
