Howe focused on ripening Cherries

The 31-year-old, the Football League's youngest manager, was the favourite to succeed Darren Ferguson at London Road and Cherries chairman Eddie Mitchell was contacted by opposite number Darragh MacAnthony on Tuesday night.[LNB]The Championship club were given permission to speak to Howe but he spurned their advances, preferring to concentrate on his work at Dean Court.[LNB]"It was very flattering to be asked and a huge compliment," he told the Bournemouth Echo. "But I have only just started the job here and it wouldn't have felt right to leave.[LNB]"I've got a tremendous relationship with the players and feel a loyalty towards them, the club and the supporters.[LNB]"We've had a fantastic start to the season and I want to try to achieve something here. It has always been my dream to be successful here and I'm looking forward to carrying on the work we are doing."[LNB][LNB]
