The 32-year-old made over 400 starts for the club, but he spent much of last season on loan at Bury after falling behind Joe Lewis and James McKeown in the pecking order. Director of Football Barry Fry said: "Mark has been a model professional, both on and off the pitch, and has been a credit to himself and the football club. "He amassed over 400 games for the Posh and has had many highs during his career, including representing the Football League against the Italian League in the 1990s, not to mention the fantastic testimonial against a Liverpool XI last year when over 10,000 fans showed their support. "I would like to thank Mark for the fantastic service he has given to Peterborough United and wish him the best of luck with his future career."
