Frecklington sets deadline
Peterborough`s Lee Frecklington has set himself a deadline of September 11 to return to first-team action.
The former Lincoln midfielder`s knee problem flared up earlier this summer, forcing him to miss the pre-season trip to Portugal and undergo surgery to correct the problem last month.
He said: "It has been an extremely frustrating time for me because I actually came back to pre-season a week early because of a problem I had at the back-end of last season, so to complete two weeks and then require an operation was a big blow.
"The actual injury was a weird one. I essentially had an extra bone in my knee and the doctor said that it is something that is manageable in everyday life, but as a footballer there is a lot of extra stress and strain on the body so it needed to be done.
"I have been out for around five weeks already, but hopefully there is a bit of light at the end of the tunnel.
"A lot of people are giving me deadlines on when I should be back, and in my mind I am targeting the Oldham game on Saturday, September 11. To make that happen I am at the club from 9am until around 4pm doing everything I can."
