Ferguson happy with battling Posh

Ferguson saw his side fall behind after only two minutes and the rock-bottom visitors also hauled themselves level at 2-2 during the second period.

But a first goal of the season for midfielder Dean Keates and a late George Boyd strike - his second of the night - was enough to lift Posh up into third place in the table.

Ferguson said: "After Crewe lost so heavily at the weekend we wanted to hit them hard and hit them early, but we ended up making the worst possible start.

"Our football was excellent at times and it was just a case of being patient to turn things around.

"Conceding a second goal was a big blow but we underlined the amount of character we have in the dressing-room by going on to win the game."
