Ferguson could turn to Blackett
Blackett last played for Posh in their home defeat by Southend on February 28 but is expected to be get the nod against Cheltenham on Good Friday following the knee ligament injury suffered by first choice left-back Williams.
The other option for Ferguson is to move Charlie Lee over from central defence but he does not want to disrupt his defence even further.
"It's a blow to lose Tommy as he was playing very well, but Shane has played well at left back in the past and I'd have no problems throwing him in," Ferguson told the Peterborough Telegraph.
"I could move Charlie across, but I'm reluctant to break up the central defenders as they've been excellent in recent weeks."
