Ferguson content with smaller squad
Ferguson has recently allowed Sergio Torres, Danny Mills and Danny Blanchett to leave London Road on loan and has seen his side record back-to-back home wins over Reading and Newcastle.
He said: "Working with 18 good first-team players is more beneficial for me than working with 25.
"It is a closely knit group of players and you can work a lot harder on game specific stuff with that number.
"It was important for those players not involved to go out and get games and I am glad that they have been able to do that."
