Fergie making Championship plans

Ferguson has guided his side to successive promotions but has all 33 players in his squad under contract for next season and is keen to move on some players ahead of a recruitment drive. Top of the list is Argentinian winger Sergio Torres, who only joined from Wycombe last summer for a sizeable fee but failed to make an impression at London Road. Strikers Liam Hatch and Scott Rendell both cost over £100,000 but have spent most of their time out on loan while Rene Howe and Chris Westwood also spent the majority of this season with other clubs. Also on the list are veteran goalkeeper Mark Tyler, defenders Danny Blanchett, Kieran Charnock, Shane Blackett and Craig Braham-Barrett. Alfie Potter - who scored at Anfield while on loan with Havant & Waterlooville - is also on his way out while Kwesi Appiah completes the dozen.
