The 24-year-old made nine appearances in two months at London Road, but the two clubs were unable to agree an extension that would see the Wales international stay with the League One club.[LNB]Crofts was stripped of the Gills captaincy in October and later placed on the transfer list by manager Mark Stimson, but the Kent club were keen to renegotiate the deal which saw them still paying a large percentage of his wages while he was out on loan.[LNB]However, the clubs were unable to strike a new agreement and Crofts - who has been recalled to the Wales squad for their friendly with Poland next week - will now return to the Gills.[LNB]Loan regulations also mean that Crofts will not be able to return to Posh for more than a further month should the two clubs broker a fresh deal when the loan window reopens next week.[LNB][LNB]
