Preston-born Charnock, who turned 25 on Monday and spent last season out on loan at League Two rivals Accrington Stanley, has joined the Gulls for an undisclosed fee. The centre-back joins on a two-year deal and goes straight into Paul Buckle's squad for Saturday's League Two opener against Chesterfield at Plainmoor. Charnock said: "This is a club on the up and it is clearly an exciting time to come here." Buckle added: "Kieran is a player who at 25 has already got plenty of ability and great potential. He is a top defender, has a very good left foot and I'm delighted he has signed for us."
