Bennett pens new Mariners deal
Bennett was a summer transfer target for Championship newcomers Peterborough, who made an offer in the region of £500,000, but the 19-year-old insisted he always wanted to remain at Blundell Park.
Bennett, whose new deal will keep him with the Mariners until 2013, told the club's official website: "At no point did I want to leave.
"It was not a hard choice for me to make in signing a new deal."
