Irons to replace Britton at Jags

Former Morton and Gretna boss David Irons is to take up the post of assistant manager at Partick Thistle.The Jags need a replacement for Gerry Britton, who will leave in early January to pursue a legal career. Britton, who made 179 appearances as a player for Thistle, had a brief spell as co-manager at Firhill before returning to the club in February 2008.
