Gers reserve joins Jags fight

Partick Thistle have snapped up Rangers defender Billy Gibson on loan until the end of the season.

The Jags moved in for the 22-year-old Gers reserve after David Lilley left the club to join Kilmarnock.

Joint Jags boss Gerry Britton told the club's official website: "He can play in the middle of the park or he can play at full-back, he is versatile and I am sure that he will be a good addition to the squad.

"He becomes a first-team squad player right away, he has had a good grounding and he has always impressed me at Under-21 level."

Of Lilley's departure, he added: "Although he was very keen to stay here the financial terms were such that he felt he couldn't knock Kilmarnock back."
