Staggies win again

League leaders Ross County extended their advantage at the top with a 3-0 win over Partick.

The hosts took the lead on the half-hour mark when Colin McMenamin rose highest to head home Gary Miller's cross.

And the advantage was doubled six minutes later courtesy of a fine free-kick by Iain Vigurs from distance.

Michael Gardyne added the third just after the restart when he was on hand to fire home McMenamin's cross.

The Jags came close to a consolation goal five minutes from time but Sean Welsh's drive was tipped over by Michael Fraser.

Substitute Steven Craig almost added a fourth in closing stages but his effort came back off a post.

Victory moves Derek Adams' side nine points clear of second-placed Falkirk while Partick remain in fourth.
