Striker Antonio German hoping to shine after joining Partick
Partick Thistle new boy Antonio German insists he loves playing football whether in the heat of India or the gales of Glasgow.
The 24-year-old English forward, who played most recently in the Indian Super League with Kerala Blasters, signed for the Ladbrokes Premiership side until the end of the season.
In stark contrast to the conditions he experienced in Asia, the much-travelled former QPR, Brentford and Gillingham player spoke to reporters in the foyer at Firhill on Monday as Storm Henry battered the main doors - but he admitted he was happy and relieved to be back in active service.
Speaking ahead of the home game against Motherwell on Tuesday night, he said: "One of the best experiences of my life was going out to India
"It was the complete opposite, 40 degrees every day and no rain whatsoever.
"But it's football and I love playing football, I don't mind the conditions to be honest.
"I will have to do my best and see what happens.
"I am relieved, happy and I see it as an opportunity to show what I can do and hopefully score some goals for the team.
"I haven't seen Partick play but I bring something different; pace and power and I can play in a variety of positions so hopefully I can show what I can do."
German said "all different things" have contributed to his nomadic career to date.
"I haven't been settled at a club," he said. "I am just trying to find a home, if that makes sense and hopefully this could be it.
"Football is an opinionated sport and you can go somewhere and the manager might not like you or he will like you, that's how it is.
"I am just trying to keep my head down and see what happens. I am trying to focus now on scoring some goals and get my name out there.
"That's the aim and hopefully I can do that."
Morgaro Gomis goes straight into the Motherwell squad after signing on loan from Hearts.
James McFadden's short-term deal expired after Saturday's 2-2 draw with Dundee so he drops out unless he pens another contract.
Motherwell manager Mark McGhee has no injury concerns.
