Partick midfielder Gary Fraser hoping to feature against Motherwell

Partick's Gary Fraser has told boss Alan Archibald he has even more to offer this season - if given a run in the team.

A dip in form and injury meant the midfielder's involvement was limited earlier in the campaign.

The 21-year-old has made just two starts since August but showed what he is capable of by weighing in with a goal as Thistle cruised to an impressive 5-2 win at Kilmarnock last week.

Next up for Partick is the visit of Motherwell and Fraser is hoping to feature and secure a win that will allow them to move five points clear of their visitors and further away from the relegation zone.

He said: "I'm delighted to be back playing and it was great to get the goal last week as well.

"Helping the team win and scoring was a great feeling. There's no better feeling than scoring.

"At the start of the season, I wasn't really getting involved and I was frustrated because I wanted to play. Then I had an injury as well.

"But I've worked hard and it's paid off for me now.

"Form-wise I've still got a bit to go, I don't think I've reached my full ability yet.

"That will come with playing so I just need to make sure I keep playing.

"The main thing is to keep working hard and doing well for the team and hopefully that's enough to stay in the team.

"Motherwell are a good side and have always been a hard team to play against. It'll be the same on Saturday.

"We just need to play the way we know we can play.

"It would be a massive result if we won. We are still in the danger zone and, right now, we need to win every game."

Partick pair Steven Lawless and Abdul Osman should overcome slight knocks but long-term casualty Christie Elliott remains on the sidelines with a back injury.

Motherwell could have Wes Fletcher back after the striker recovered from a knock and fellow frontman Louis Moult admits their priority now is to put a run of results together and cut out the hard-luck stories.

The Well have fallen into the bottom two of the Ladbrokes Premiership in recent weeks despite picking up decent points against Aberdeen and Hearts.

They can leapfrog Partick Thistle if they win at Firhill on Saturday and Moult knows the result is everything after a spell in which recently-appointed boss Mark McGhee experimented with his team selection.

"I think we should be a little bit higher in the league but it's a results business," the former Stoke and Wrexham striker said.

"It's our fault. Some of our performances have been spot-on but I find myself sitting here saying the performance was good but the result wasn't quite there.

"We need consistency now with results and hopefully we can start that on Saturday.

"We need to win these games. We can't just get up for it against the likes of Hearts and Celtic. We need to go there and get up for it exactly like we did against Hearts.

"We need to put a run together, there is no doubt about that."
