Ryan Scully eyeing up new Partick Thistle contract
Ryan Scully aims to use his run in the team to secure a new contract and push for the Partick Thistle number one jersey.
Scully has played the last two games with Tomas Cerny sidelined with a foot injury and will deputise again when the Jags host Inverness.
The 23-year-old, who has now played six times this season, said: "It's not nice sitting on the bench but you need to accept that, Tomas has been playing really well.
"For me to come in and play in the top flight is a massive achievement and another stage in my development as a goalkeeper.
"My contract is up in the summer so hopefully I do well in the next few games. My agent is talking to the club just now.
"All I can do is do myself justice and that puts something in the gaffer's mind for next season. Then it's just a matter of coming back flying in pre-season."
Scully, who has had loan spells with Albion Rovers and Dunfermline, added: "I would like to stay here. If the opportunity was there to go out on loan I could maybe do that but the aim is to stay here and fight for the number one spot.
"I'm confident enough in my own ability and hopefully if I get a run of games I can prove I can play in the number one spot."
Midfielders Gary Fraser and Stuart Bannigan remain out with knee injuries and miss the Inverness game.
However, defenders Callum Booth and Dan Seaborne return from suspension.
Inverness boss John Hughes has urged his team to guarantee their top-flight status on Saturday - to help give their out-of-contract team-mates some clarity.
Inverness took a major step towards Premiership safety with a 3-1 win over second-bottom Kilmarnock on Sunday and Hughes wants to finish the job against Partick at Firhill.
The Caley Thistle boss knows every place in the league could help towards next season's budget, and could provide a lifeline to the likes of right-back David Raven, whose future beyond the summer is uncertain.
Hughes said: "Saturday's match against Kilmarnock was a must-win, to go to 11 (points ahead) instead of five. It was imperative we won it.
"We had to do the business. Now you are looking for that extra point just to make sure we are 100 per cent safe, and hopefully we do that on Saturday.
"But we have to go down there with a mindset to win the game, we want to pick up three points.
"At this time of the year there will be players playing for contracts, players that know they will maybe not be involved next year, but we are asking everyone to have a focus to try and win the next four games.
"If we had a good budget, we would keep everybody, but it doesn't work like that, you need to spin plates.
"There are one or two hanging on, and if we know where we are going to finish and there was extra money coming into the budget, you would have an answer for these guys. The first place you would look is in your dressing room."
Inverness are closing in on a fully-fit squad ahead of Partick game.
Goalkeeper Dean Brill is back playing under-20s games after a knee injury while Aaron Doran is making excellent progress following his long-term knee problem.
Alex Fisher has returned from England after continuing his rehab and is pushing for involvement before the end of the season.
