Partick Thistle's Ziggy Gordon handing out no favours to former club Hamilton
Ziggy Gordon insists he will have no problem deciding where his loyalties lie when his new side Partick Thistle take on previous employers Hamilton.
The Jags right-back was given his first-team chance by former Accies boss Billy Reid when he was just 17.
He went on to rack up 160 appearances for the Lanarkshire outfit and admits he still sees most of Martin Canning's squad as friends.
But the 23-year-old says there will be no old pals act when he welcomes his former side to Firhill for Saturday's crucial Ladbrokes Premiership clash.
He said: "There is no divided loyalty at all. I'm a Partick Thistle player, I'm employed by this club now. The only side I want to win on Saturday is Thistle.
"At lot of the Accies boys are still friends of mine but I'm a professional first and foremost and I want to win the game, so there is no loyalty, there is no friendship.
"When the whistle at the start of the game goes, I'll be full throttle looking to help my team win."
Hamilton have added former Arsenal and Hamburg left-back Lennard Sowah to their squad.
Sowah admits his career has not gone to plan since leaving London but hopes Hamilton can help put him back on track.
The full-back - who has also had stints with Portsmouth and Hamburg - is in line to make his Accies debut after penning a short-term deal.
Firhill may not exactly match up to the Emirates but Sowah cannot wait to get going in Maryhill this weekend.
He said: "I played for Arsenal's academy and then moved to Portsmouth's youth team. I had a scholarship but managed to play a couple of first-team games, so it was definitely a great time for me.
"But has my career gone the way I'd have hoped it would since then? Definitely not.
"I've not played as many games as I'd have liked to but that is football.
"However, I'm a person who works hard and doesn't give up. I'm here to do my best.
"I want to kick-start my career. When I came here, I didn't look at the club and think, 'oh, they don't have all the top facilities'.
"I'm here to play football. The ball is round, the pitch is green, I just want to get started. This is an opportunity to get where I want to be."
Skipper Michael Devlin is racing to be fit as he battles a knee problem while defender Darren Lyon is making progress after groin surgery but will not feature until the end of the month.
Keeper Remi Matthews is likely to be replaced by Gary Woods after he was ruled out for up to three months after damaging his shoulder. Long-term absentees Jesus Garcia Tena and Craig Watson (both knee) remain out.
