Liam Lindsay enjoying life in the Partick Thistle first team

Liam Lindsay feels the guidance of a series of experienced defenders has made his transition to the Partick Thistle first team an easy one.

Lindsay, who turned 20 earlier this month, has made eight first-team starts this season and helped Thistle to consecutive wins against Dundee United and St Johnstone.

Dan Seaborne and Freddie Frans have helped Lindsay on the pitch and he has benefited from the coaching of fellow centre-backs Alan Archibald and Scott Paterson, the Thistle management team.

Ahead of the Ladbrokes Premiership visit of Hamilton, Lindsay said: "It's been really easy. I came in and everyone has treated me like I have been in the first team for a while.

"Freddie and Dan have helped me along. They both help you through the game. They are experienced pros so it helps me massively."

On his coaching mentors, he added: "They help me a long the way, give me advice and keep my confidence up."

Partick are hopeful that midfielder Stuart Bannigan and forward Mathias Pogba will recover from hamstring strains before the visit of Hamilton.

Abdul Osman is suspended but Mustapha Dumbuya has recovered from the illness that forced him out of last weekend's victory over St Johnstone.

Christie Elliott (back) is a long-term absentee.

Hamilton midfielder Ali Crawford is "touch and go" after going off against Dundee with a groin problem.

Darian MacKinnon is suspended, but Darren Lyon could come back into contention in midfield after missing the Dundee game.

Danny Redmond (hamstring) and Michael Devlin (ankle) are still out.

Hamilton midfielder Louis Longridge is focused on maintaining his place in the team after seizing his chance last weekend.

Longridge came on in the 24th minute against Dundee after Crawford limped off with a groin injury and helped his side draw 1-1 despite having Darian MacKinnon sent off.

The 24-year-old has been a regular off the bench this season but had not started a game since August, and he aims to keep his spot.

"There's good strength and depth in the squad," he said. "I played the first couple of games and then got dropped because we weren't getting the results we wanted.

"There's competition in every position at this club. The boys came in and did well. They have been flying recently so it's just all about being patient.

"It's not nice to see one of your team-mates going down injured but Ali has gone down injured and I've got the call, and we have gone on to get a positive result.

"It was a good game to be involved in. Even when we went down to 10 men and lost the goal, I felt we were the better team and we showed good character to come back and get something from the game. So hopefully we just take this in the next game and hopefully I'm starting."
