Craig missing for big game

Partick will be without Steven Craig for their top of the table clash with Dunfermline following the striker's dismissal against Cove Rangers in the Scottish Cup last Saturday.

The Jags are further weakened by the absence through ankle injuries of Stuart Bannigan and Sean Welsh with a hip problem keeping on-loan Celtic man Paul Slane on the sidelines.

Hugh Murray returns after illness and Firhill manager Jackie McNamara has added youngsters Jordan Leyden and Jonathan Black to his squad.

McNamara said: "A win is the only result that can put us back to the top of the table so that is what we are aiming for. It will be tight but we came out on top earlier in the season and a repeat of that success would be great."

Dunfermline look set to have a fully fit squad with Stephen Jordan set to return after injury and Callum Morris available after illness.

Joe Cardle, Josh Falkingham, Stephen Husband and Andy Kirk were all doubts earlier in the week, however they took part in a full training session on Friday.

"We are in great shape which is just as well as Partick are right on our tails," assistant manager Gerry McCabe said. "They are a really strong team particularly at home where they have won five games out of five.

"I am sure it will be a great game and whilst nothing will be decided in it I am sure that we would take a great boost by winning."
