Kerr a doubt for Partick

Mark Kerr is a doubt for Partick Thistle's Scottish Premiership game against Celtic at Firhill on Sunday.

The midfielder is struggling with a back complaint and will be assessed.

Gary Fraser is suspended after being sent off in an under-20 game in midweek and the match comes too early for Jordon McMillan who is on his way back from a thigh injury.

Neil Lennon is glad of the extra day's rest his Celtic players will have before the clash.

The Hoops go into the game on the back of a morale-boosting 2-1 home win over Ajax in the Champions League in midweek.

However, the hectic start of the season continues to take its toll on his squad with winger James Forrest (ankle) and utility player Charlie Mulgrew (heel) doubts for the short trip to Maryhill.

Midfielder Beram Kayal has a thigh complaint but should be okay and right-back Mikael Lustig should shrug off an on-going hip problem but Derk Boerrigter (ankle) and Kris Commons (hamstring) remain out along with long-term injured, Adam Matthews (collarbone) and Steven Mouyokolo (Achilles).

The Parkhead boss is glad the game has been moved to the Sunday as he juggles with his squad again.

"It is just a huge volume of games and it has been for quite a while," said Lennon.

"It was just a short break in the summer. We came back early and we were playing (Champions League) qualifiers in mid-July and I know I sound like a broken down record, but this Thistle game is the 20th competitive game already and that's quite a start to any season.

"It is a great help having the game on the Sunday because it gives us that extra day for the players to get that recovery in and training has been quite light.

"But off the back of a brilliant win, the players will be really looking forward to the game."
