Partick ease past Hamilton

Kris Doolan and Chris Erskine were on target as Partick secured a 2-0 win over Hamilton, a result that saw them leapfrog their opponents in the Division One table.

Striker Doolan opened the scoring after 18 minutes when he fired Christie Elliot's left-wing cross from inside the box into the bottom-right corner of the net.

Elliot almost doubled his side's lead four minutes later but his powerful drive from the edge of the box was well held by David Hutton.

Midfielder Erskine sealed the points in the 65th minute when he let rip from 18 yards and the ball nestled into the bottom-right corner of the net.

Hamilton almost grabbed a consolation goal in second-half injury time but Scott Fox was equal to Jon Routledge's 35-yard effort.
