Cagni takes over at Parma

Relegated Parma have appointed Luigi Cagni as their new coach for next season.

The 57-year-old Italian will replace the sacked Hector Cuper in the hot-seat at the Ennio Tardini and lead the club in Serie B next season.

Cagni spent two spells in charge at troubled Empoli last season but was unable to save the Tuscan side from relegation.

He has agreed a two-year contract with Parma and will be charged with securing an immediate return to Serie A.
