PSG coach Ancelotti embraces Ibra-dependence
Paris Saint-Germain coach Carlo Ancelotti says he has no fears about his team becoming reliant on the goals of close-season signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
The 30-year-old Swede signed from AC Milan in July and quickly illustrated his qualities by claiming both goals as PSG came from two goals down to draw 2-2 at home to Lorient on the opening day of the Ligue 1 season.
PSG were unable to find the net in their 0-0 draw at Ajaccio, when Ibrahimovic was absent with an ankle injury, but Ancelotti said it was to be expected that such an important player should be missed.
"I hope that this team will be dependent on him," Ancelotti said on Saturday.
"It's natural, It means that he's scored lots of goals. He has the quality to score lots of goals. He also has fantastic character. He's a winner."
Ancelotti did not reveal whether Ibrahimovic would be fit enough to line up against Bordeaux on Sunday, but he did say that he was "more optimistic" about the Swede than his fellow new signing, Thiago Silva.
"I don't think he'll play," said Ancelotti of the Brazilian centre-back.
