Paris Saint-Germain are closing in on the signing of Brazilian teenager Marquinhos, coach Laurent Blanc said Friday.

The French champions have been chasing the 19-year-old Roma centre-back all summer.

And now Blanc believes they have succeeded in tempting him across the Alps.

"He is young, very talented and with great potential," said Blanc. "It's a dossier that's been going on a long time and will come to fruition this afternoon (Friday), I hope.

"This proves that PSG are also recruiting for the future, he offers us a certain guarantee for the future."

Marquinhos, who only joined Roma a year ago from Corinthians in his homeland, was due to undergo a medical on Friday in Paris.

He is expected to cost in the region of 35 million euros ($46 million).

Should he sign he would become PSG's third summer capture following the 64 million euro transfer of Uruguay striker Edinson Cavani from Napoli and the 15 million euro acquisition of left back Lucas Digne from Lille.
