A bus carrying Paris Saint-Germain players to Marseille's Velodrome Stadium on Sunday was struck by objects thrown including a golf ball which smashed a window.

There were no injuries reported but a complaint has been filed with police, a source close to the Ligue 1 champions said Sunday.

Marseille supporters also hurled objects at police before the match with officers using tear gas to disperse troublemakers around the stadium.

PSG are bidding to reclaim top spot in the French top flight from Lyon, with Marseille in third.

Some 65,000 spectators packed into the Velodrome stadium for the match dubbed 'Le Classique'.
