New Paris St Germain manager Unai Emery has raided former club Sevilla to sign Poland midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak for an undisclosed fee.

The 26-year-old, who was part of the Poland team eliminated from Euro 2016 on penalties by Portugal on Thursday, has signed a five-year deal.

Krychowiak becomes PSG's second signing of the summer following Hatem Ben Arfa's arrival, with Emery looking to turn the French champions into a side capable of challenging for the Champions League.

"I am very proud to return to France and defend the colours of a club as ambitious as Paris Saint-Germain," Krychowiak, who previously had spells with Bordeaux, Reims and Nantes, told the club's official website.

"The opportunity to continue working with Unai Emery was obviously a major factor in my decision.

"I have joined Paris to live very strong emotions and with the ambition of winning as many trophies as possible. I am looking forward to this exciting next step in my career."

The capital club later made Club Brugge defender Thomas Meunier their second signing of the day.

The 24-year-old right-back, who had been linked with West Ham, became free to move to Paris following Belgium's quarter-final defeat to Wales, and he has signed a four-year deal.

" I am very honoured to have been chosen by PSG to come and bolster a squad that already features a number of great players," he told psg.fr.

"I signed for Paris because I have a huge desire to keep improving, experience at the highest level and win titles. I can't wait to play in the fantastic Parc des Princes stadium."
