No Beckham in PSG starting line-up

Paris Saint-Germain welcomed back captain Thiago Silva after almost two months out injured but there was no place in the starting line-up for David Beckham in their Champions League last 16, second leg, with Valencia.

Silva partnered his fellow Brazilian Alex in the heart of the defence, while Thiago Motta was preferred to Beckham in central midfield in the absence of Marco Verratti due to suspension.

With Zlatan Ibrahimovic starting a two-match ban following his red card in the first leg in Spain, which PSG won 2-1, Lucas moved into a central attacking role as Clement Chantome was handed a start on the right wing.

Valencia have problems in defence, with left-back Jeremy Mathieu starting in the middle due to the absences through injury of both Adil Rami and Ricardo Costa.

Joao Pereira is only deemed fit enough for a place on the bench so Antonio Barragan starts at right-back.
