Zlatan Ibrahimovic's prospective Paris St Germain team-mate Maxwell is looking forward to being reunited with a player he rates among the best in Europe.

Brazilian full-back Maxwell is one of Ibrahimovic's closest friends in football, having played alongside him at Ajax, Inter Milan and Barcelona.

The Sweden striker is expected to complete his move from AC Milan later, with reports in France suggesting he will sign a three-year contract to follow Milan colleague Thiago Silva to France after a fee of 20million euros (£15.7m) was agreed. And Maxwell told L'Equipe TV: "With his height, his physical presence and his technical skills, there is nobody like him."

He added: "(Lionel) Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are the two players who are always battling to be the best in Europe, but they have to pay attention because Zlatan may compete and be the best."

Ibrahimovic has polarised opinion throughout his career, with question marks over his attitude as he has failed to add consistency to his considerable talent.

But Maxwell said: "Sometimes you have an impression of someone, but when you get to know the person for real he is completely different.

"He is very loyal to his friends and his family and he is a very good guy."
