Ancelotti quit wish a personal choice

Paris Saint-Germain coach Carlo Ancelotti insisted on Saturday that his wish to leave the French capital is purely a personal choice and has nothing to do with money.

Speaking on the eve of PSG's final Ligue 1 game of the season, away to Lorient, Ancelotti added that he has not spoken with the powers that be at the capital club since revealing his desire to move on last weekend.

Asked what PSG were lacking that was stopping him from wanting to continue at the helm, Ancelotti said: "If I respond, I will give the reason why I want to leave the club, and I don't want to say why. It is a personal choice.

"It is not a money problem, I earn a lot and have earned a lot."

Ancelotti revealed last Sunday that Real Madrid was a possible future destination, and a move to the Spanish capital looks an even stronger possibility following the confirmation that Jose Mourinho will leave the Santiago Bernabeu at the end of the current campaign.

However, the Italian insists there is nothing new to report on his situation since last weekend.

"Things are as they were last week. We haven't spoken this week and we still need to speak to try and find a solution for me and the club.

"We need to take our time because it will not be easy to find a solution."

Despite the uncertainty surrounding his future, Ancelotti insisted that his relationship with the leading figures at PSG remains good.

"I get on well with everyone," he said. "(Sporting Director) Leonardo is a friend, he is like family to me. With Nasser (Al-Khelaifi, the president) I have got on very well all year."

PSG won this season's Ligue 1 title with two games to spare so there is nothing at stake in Sunday's match in Brittany.

David Beckham is not in the PSG squad, meaning that last weekend's match against Brest at the Parc des Princes, when the veteran Englishman broke down in tears as he was substituted late on, was indeed his farewell as a player.
