Simplicio focused on Palermo

Palermo midfielder Fabio Simplicio has opened the door to a possible stay with the Serie A club beyond the end of the season.

The 30-year-old Brazilian is a rumoured target for both Internazionale and Roma, but insists that he is focused on the job in hand at the Stadio Renzo Barbera.

He told Stadionews: "I have never said that I am unhappy to stay. I want to remain in Palermo, then at the end of the season we will see what can be done.

"I want to stay here and I want to give continuity to the work that I am doing.

"I want to give my contribution and I will try to earn my place as a regular, because I am used to playing and I want to continue doing so.

"The coach knows what I can give and, independent of my contract situation, I will accept any decision as a professional."
