Rossi anticipates no problems

New Palermo coach Delio Rossi has denied suggestions that interference from president Maurizio Zamparini could hamper his ability to rejuvenate the Rosanero.

Zamparini has been accused of acting too hastily in sacking coach Walter Zenga just three months into a three-year contract.

But despite agreeing to become the club's fourth coach inside two seasons, former Lazio boss Rossi is not expecting any problems when dealing with the president.

"I am here to think about the team and do my work," he explained. "As for the rest, the decisions are down to Zamparini."

Speaking about his plans to breathe new life into the squad, he added: "Honestly they are an ideal team to become an important player in the league, but it's the pitch that will decide what we can achieve.

"First we have to work hard and then we can speak about what this team can do. We have to work and then we will analyse where we are."
