Palermo seal Amelia coup

Palermo have completed the signing of Italy international goalkeeper Marco Amelia from relegated Livorno.
The 26-year-old is currently away with the Azzurri squad preparing for the European Championship finals, but has still found time to tie up a four-year deal with the Sicilians.
Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini commented: "We wanted a goalkeeper who would be able to compete with Alberto Fontana for the number one shirt and we have found one.
"Amelia was our primary objective and we have succeeded thanks to sporting director Rino Foschi.
"Now we can relax for a while because Amelia is still young. We will sell Federico Agliardi because he has the right to play first-team football elsewhere."
