Miccoli open to Palermo stay

In-form Palermo striker Fabrizio Miccoli is keen to sign a new contract with the club.

Since moving to Sicily from Benfica in the summer, the 29-year-old has found the net six times in only nine appearances to help Palermo make a solid start to the campaign.

The ex-Juventus forward said: "Aside from this one, I still have another season left on my contract and we need to see what Palermo intend to do.

"I have a marvellous rapport with the president and, if he is willing to start talks next January, I am ready to listen.

"I frequently speak with him on the phone. He has proved that he greatly counts on me and I truly owe him, as he was the one that brought me here."
