Under-fire Oxford United manager Brian Talbot backed his decision to start with Billy Turley in goal as his struggling side hit back to draw 1-1 with Macclesfield Town on Wednesday.
The point leaves the U's in relegation trouble after a poor run of form that has seen them take only four points from a seven-game winless run. However, Talbot remains confident his side will beat the drop.
After the game he said: "Both goals were goalkeeping errors, but both keepers then made amends with good saves afterwards.
"I knew when I picked Billy Turley it wouldn't be a popular decision with the fans, but I've got to get the required points and I have to have faith in him.
"We've now gone seven games without a win, but it was a battling performance, a whole-hearted performance, committed, and I thought we just edged it.
"Having said that, Wijnhard should have scored at the end."
