Oxford United boss Jim Smith says he hopes to bring in eight new players to get his squad up to scratch for the Conference campaign.
Smith has released eight players following relegation but has vowed to replace them as the U's look to bounce back at the first attempt.
The U's manager has yet to make a signing an is pleading for patience from the fans.
"Obviously finances will play a big part in that, but I would be looking at around the same number," Smith told the Oxford Mail.
"The Conference also operates with a wage cap and that will obviously play a part in what we are able to do, so we'll just have to see."
