Kitson still out for U's

Oxford will be without experienced striker Dave Kitson once more when they host Portsmouth.

A string of postponements has meant the former Reading forward is still waiting to sit out the final game of a two-match ban for yellow card accumulations.

The U's saw their FA Cup clash at Charlton postponed twice which means they are yet to kick a ball in anger in 2014 but the break means Fulham loanee Ryan Williams looks likely to have recovered from his ankle injury.

The club confirmed this week that midfielder Jon Meades is well on his way to a recovery now from an ankle injury after a nightmare first season with the U's but he is some way from a first-team return.

Portsmouth could have a new-look side.

Boss Richie Barker has drafted in young Swansea defender Daniel Alfei on a month's loan and made three permanent signings to ease the injury crisis at Fratton Park.

Full-back Nicky Shorey and strikers Ryan Taylor and Jake Jervis have also arrived at Fratton Park and will be pushing for debuts.

Barker is still without Simon Ferry, Adam Webster (both hamstring), Danny East (ankle), Andy Barcham (thigh), Dan Butler and Tom Craddock (both knee) while Shaun Cooper's short-term contract at the club has expired.
