Youngster interests U's boss Wilder

Local striker John Mills has caught the eye of manager Chris Wilder as the U's look to strengthen their squad on their return to the football league. Mills 20, who hit an impressive 25 goals in all competitions for Abingdon United in his first full season with the southern league side has enjoyed a prolific season at Northcourt Road. The athletic forward who can operate as a lone striker or on the left wing has made it known of his desire to move up the football pyramid following a spell with Old Woodstock Town with who he scored against United under Darren Pattersons reign in charge of the U's Oxfordshire Senior Cup triumph. Mills' situation would mean a fee wouldn't prove a stumbling block with the promising striker yet to sign a contract meaning he would be able to move without discussing terms of a fee.   Fancy a flutter with paddypower?
