Wright blow for Oxford

Oxford have been rocked by the news that Jake Wright will miss the hectic festive period with a foot injury. Wright has been ruled out for six to eight weeks after fracturing his fifth metatarsal in the win at Chesterfield last week and manager Chris Wilder is disappointed with the timing of the injury. "The results of the scan are obviously disappointing for Jake and for us," he told the club's official website. "He had worked very hard to get back to fitness and get back into the team and it is bad timing for this to happen. "However as we showed in the rest of the game at Chesterfield this is a squad game and it means others will get a chance to show what they can do."
